Goli is a game of precision and focus played with small, colorful glass spheres. It is a staple of rural childhoods and requires a steady hand.
The Goal: To strike a specific target marble or to knock as many marbles as possible out of a designated circle or into a small hole in the ground.
The Technique: The player holds one marble between the forefinger of their non-dominant hand and the middle finger of their dominant hand, creating a "tension" similar to a slingshot. They then flick the marble forward with high velocity.
The Rules: There are various versions. In one, players try to get their marble into a small pit (Kuli); once inside, they gain the power to "strike" and eliminate other players' marbles. In another, you simply aim to hit an opponent's marble from a distance. The winner usually gets to keep the marbles they’ve successfully struck.
